Ibn Khaldun

Ibn Khaldun lived in 14th century Tunisia and is considered to be the father of modern sociology. Ibn Khaldun is also considered one of the greatest philosophers in the Muslim world. Ibn Khaldun first formulated the concept of social conflict and the idea of a ‘generation' used commonly now. Ibn Khaldun is responsible for coming up with the ideas of tribalism and social cohesion and their importance to society. Ibn Khaldun figures among eminent sociologists of the world.
